Initial Idea Generation: Reflection
After our first week of brainstorming ideas for our story, creating mood boards and starting initial concept and character designs my group came to the conclusion (after receiving feedback from our tutors) that our logline and plot was too complex for a 30 second animation.
After reflecting on our initial ideas we also realised it was also too predictable and required too much background information/context. For this reason we decided to come back on the following Monday of Week 2 to discuss potential new ideas for loglines which would be more manageable and realistic considering the limited time we had for the project.
As a whole I think our group found this feedback challenging as we all were very engaged and set on our initial story idea. I do however think it was necessary as we would have struggled to communicate to our audience the depth of our story (our tutors were unsure on the specifics of our story when we showed them our first draft of an animatic).
